Fish in Mustard Curry

The Bihari version of the popular mustard fish curry.
Ingredients
- Fish: 500g (Rohu or Catla)
- Mustard Seed Paste: 3 tbsp
- Garlic Paste: 1 tbsp
- Tomato: 1, puréed
- Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
- Red Chili Powder: 1.5 tsp
- Mustard Oil: for frying and curry
- Salt: to taste
Instructions

Marinate fish with salt and turmeric, then shallow fry until golden. Set aside.

In a pan, heat mustard oil. Add mustard-garlic paste and fry for a minute.

Add tomato purée and spice powders. Cook until oil separates.

Add 2 cups of water, bring to a boil.

Add fried fish and simmer for 10 minutes.
