Nargisi Kofta (Egg Kofta)

Boiled eggs encased in minced meat, fried and served in a rich gravy.

Ingredients

  • Eggs: 6, hard-boiled
  • Mutton Mince: 250g
  • For Gravy:: Onion-tomato paste, yogurt, spices
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste: 1 tbsp for mince, 1 tbsp for gravy
  • Breadcrumbs: 1/4 cup
  • Oil: for frying
  • Salt: to taste

Instructions

    Season the mutton mince with salt and ginger-garlic paste.

    Carefully coat each boiled egg with a layer of the mince.

    Roll in breadcrumbs and deep fry until golden brown. These are the koftas.

    Prepare a rich, thick gravy separately with onion-tomato paste and spices.

    To serve, slice the koftas in half and pour the hot gravy over them.
