Royyala Vepudu (Prawn Fry)

A spicy and tangy prawn fry, perfect as a starter or side dish.

Ingredients

  • Prawns: 500g, cleaned and deveined
  • Onion: 2, finely chopped
  • Green Chilies: 3, slit
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste: 1 tbsp
  • Red Chili Powder: 1.5 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala: 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice: 1 tbsp
  • Oil: 3 tbsp
  • Salt: to taste

Instructions

    Marinate prawns with salt and turmeric.

    Heat oil, sauté onions until golden brown.

    Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Fry for a minute.

    Add the marinated prawns and cook on high heat. Prawns cook very quickly.

    Add chili powder and garam masala. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the prawns are cooked and the masala is dry and coats the prawns.

    Drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.

    Serve immediately.
