Spicy and flavorful dry-fried mutton, a popular appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Mutton: 500g, boneless, thin strips
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste: 2 tbsp
  • Red Chili Powder: 1.5 tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder: 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala: 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice: 2 tbsp
  • Oil: for deep frying
  • Salt: to taste

Instructions

    Pressure cook mutton strips with salt, turmeric, and half of the ginger-garlic paste until just tender (do not overcook). Drain any excess water.

    Marinate the cooked mutton with the remaining ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, pepper powder, and garam masala. Let it sit for 30 minutes.

    Heat oil for deep frying. Fry the marinated mutton pieces in batches on high heat until they are crisp and dark brown.

    Drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

    Sprinkle with lemon juice and chaat masala (optional) before serving.
